Day visitors can enjoy 4×4 trails, trail running, mountain biking, short hikes and horse riding.
Along the way you will see the most fascinating rock formations that are thousands of years old and quite unique to the Karoo. You will pass through valleys, past streams and even see some rock art that was left by the San people that roamed these plains many years ago. In summer you can enjoy the naturally formed swimming holes, while admiring the huge variety of kosmos. Also be sure to visit the fossilised riverbed. The trail is clearly marked with caracal footprints.
The houses are fully equipped for 12 people. We provide fitted sheets, just bring you own bedding. In the cold seasons we will provide an extra blanket per person (only for slack packers). Bring your own towel.
At the moment there are wind farm developments on the farm. It does not affect the route, but you will see activities. Day visitors @ R60 per person.
We are in the process of developing trails for running. We would not recommend the hiking trail for running. While we are still busy you are welcome to overnight in Rietpoort or Wilgefontein and talk to us about routes we would recommend. You will only pay for accommodation, no extra cost.

We welcome children who simply wish to experience the farm from the saddle of a horse. You also have the option to rent our horses at R60 per horse for the day and embark on a self-guided adventure exploring the farm. Feel free to pack a picnic and explore to your heart’s content. Please note that our horses are primarily used for sheep herding, so during busy seasons, they may be unavailable. Please inquire upon arrival for availability.
Experience hunting at its finest with a one-time fee of R1000 per person, which covers the bakkie fee, hunting license, and slaughter. We offer a range of game, including springbuck, kudu, blesbuck, fellow deer, roebuck, and black wildebeest. Please note that we are not a game farm; instead, we explore various farms in the area for your hunting excursions. Children under 12 pay R500 per person.
Hunting season are from beginning of May to end of July.
2025 Prices for accommodation:
Option 1A: Rietpoort self-catering farmhouse, including bedding, towels and a maid – R600 per person per night.
Option 1B: Rietpoort self-catering farmhouse, no bedding, no towels and a maid – R500 per person per night.
Option 2A: Wilgefontein self-catering farmhouse including bedding, towels and a maid – R450 per person per night.
Option 2B: Wilgefontein self-catering farmhouse no bedding, no towels and a maid – R400 per person per night.
Sheep shearing: Every 9 months. 2024 will be May and January.
Lambing seasons: March/April and August/September.
Wind farm development: Arrange to ride along and see the development up close.
